一、stop ... from ... 阻止某人做某事

【考點(diǎn)說明】from是介詞，后邊需接名詞或動名詞。如：

You can't stop him (from) going there. 你不能阻止他去那兒。

【知識串聯(lián)】stop ... from doing sth. ＝ keep ... from doing sth. = prevent ... from doing sth. 阻止......做某事。這三個短語用在主動語態(tài)中，stop和prevent構(gòu)成的兩短語中from可以省略，但keep短語中的from不可省略。各短語用在被動語態(tài)中時，from都不可省略。如：

The snow kept us from driving to school. 這場雪讓我們無法開車上學(xué)。

We were prevented from going home by the heavy rain. 大雨使我們不能回家了。

二、more or less 或多或少；大體如此

【考點(diǎn)說明】修飾數(shù)目時應(yīng)放在數(shù)詞后面，強(qiáng)調(diào)程度時放在be或助動詞之后、行為動詞之前。如：

There are 50 students more or less in our class. 我們班大約有50個學(xué)生。

His homework is more or less finished. 他的家庭作業(yè)差不多完成了。

He has more or less understood the text. 他基本上理解了課文。

【知識串聯(lián)】（1）or so大約；左右。通常用在數(shù)詞的后面。如：

I have 100 yuan or so.我大約有100元錢。

（2）the more ... , the less ...越......越不...... 如：

The more difficult the questions are, the less likely I am able to answer them. 問題越難，我就越答不上來。

三、neither ... nor ... 既不......也不......

【考點(diǎn)說明】連接兩個代詞做主語時，謂語要遵循就近原則。如：

Neither you nor I am a student. 你不是學(xué)生，我也不是學(xué)生。

【知識串聯(lián)】neither, either和both都用于談及兩個人或兩件事物，either表示"兩者中任何一方"，both表示"兩者都"，它們都可以用作形容詞或代詞。類似短語還有：either ... or ... 或者......或者......，both ... and ... 雙方都。如：

Either you or he has been invited. 你和他都被邀請了。

Both Tom and Mary are good students. 湯姆和瑪莉都是好學(xué)生。
