作副詞時(shí)，no有下列兩種用法：
�。ㄒ唬┳鳛閥es的反義詞，用在回答問(wèn)題的場(chǎng)合，表示“不”的意思。例：
No，I won't go to the casino．
不，我不去賭場(chǎng)。
（二）用在比較級(jí)之前，表示“并不”之意。例：
The weather today is no better than it was yesterday．
今天的天氣并不比昨天好。
用作形容詞時(shí)，no表示not any的意味。例：
There is no（=not any）time to lose．
時(shí)不可失。
注：當(dāng)no用作形容詞時(shí)，可直接放在名詞之前，如果名詞的前面有a、any、much、many、enough等詞，就要改用not，不用no，因?yàn)閚ot是副詞，只有副詞才有資格修飾a、any、much、many、enough等詞。因此，我們說(shuō)：
I have no money．或I have not any money．
作名詞時(shí)，no表示“否定”的意思。
例：
Two noes make a yes．
否定的否定就是肯定。

I do not know any of them．
這些人我一個(gè)都不認(rèn)識(shí)。
�。ǘ┬揎椥稳菰~：
It's not cold today．
今天天氣不冷。
（三）修飾不定冠詞：
Three decades ago not a year passed without a number of people falling victims to hunger here．
三十年前，這里每年都有不少人死于饑荒。
�。ㄋ模┬揎椄痹~：
Not seldom did I go to Victoria Park while I stayed in Causeway Bay．
我住在銅鑼灣期間常到維多利亞公園去。
�。ㄎ澹┬揎椷B詞：
They are working hard not because they want to make money but because they know what they are working for．
他們?cè)谂ぷ髌湓虿⒎鞘菫榱速嶅X，而是在于他們知道為何而工作。
請(qǐng)注意下面no和not的區(qū)別：
Mr．Chen is no fool．
陳先生決不是傻瓜。
Mr．Chen is not a fool．
陳先生不是傻瓜。
He is no good at tennis．
他的網(wǎng)球打得很不好。
He is not good at tennis．
他的網(wǎng)球打得不好。
I have no more than ten dollars．
我只有十元錢。
I have not more than ten dollars．
我有不超過(guò)十元錢。
