The world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because ofenvironmental destruction. Bird flu and Sars are two typical examples thatenvironmental destruction may threaten our life. Besides, forest destruction ,water and air pollution result in decrease of planting land and unpleasantweather.
Serious as the problem seems, we can come up with some measures to dealwith it. First of all, the authorities should adopt the policy of "sustainabledevelopment", and laws concerning environmental protection should be put intoeffect and enforced strictly just as our government has been doing.
What' s more, every citizen should realize the seriousness of the problemand make concerted efforts to protect our environment. In addition, plantingtrees helps improve and beautify the environment.

we can use shopping baskets not plastic bags when we go shopping，and we canuse both sides of the paper when we write .In a word，if everyone pays moreattention to our environment ，there will be less pollution and our life will bebetter.
“There is only one earth”，I hope everyone will protect our environmentwell.

Also, engineers try to design and locate new power plants to dominimum damage to the environment.
However, it may be that we still have a long way to go before we have aclean world. Nearly all of the countries are trying hard to prevent and controlair pollution. There indeed seems to be no end to tasks that environmentalistswill be required to do. People will continually find new ways to controlpollution.
